Tailor Made
The majority of upholstery now sold in the UK is mass-produced. Fabrics and leather are cut in piles with automated cutting machines and upholstery is done on a flow-line or track system. Therefore, no operative is responsible for the final quality of the build except an inspector at the end of the line.

At PF, every piece of furniture is inspected at every stage of manufacture to ensure you receive the highest quality finish possible:

  • Skilled wood machinists mill the frame parts before an experienced frame maker builds the hardwood frame.
  • Skilled cutters cut the fabrics by hand, avoiding weaving and printing faults and ensuring that patterns are fully matched before it is sewn by one of our skilled machinists.
  • One of our skilled upholsterers then makes the whole piece from start to finish and is individually responsible for its quality and finish.
  • The final inspection is conducted by our Upholstery Manager and it is his responsibility to ensure that every piece we make is as good as any sofa or chair that can be manufactured anywhere in the world.

Bespoke Orders
Every piece of furniture we produce is made to order. The majority are made to our standard sizes, but with the vast number of fabric, leather and cushion choices, it really is bespoke furniture.

On some occasions, customers may have very limited space or a very large room to fill. As we manufacture our own frames, we can alter all of our furniture for length and alter the depth on a large proportion of our designs for an additional charge.
